Anthousa – Preserved settlement of Aspropotamos
The proud villages of Aspropotamos are extended at its peaks and its slopes, in a route with dense forests. Among them, the preserved village Anthousa, standing at an altitude of over 1,100 meters, beautiful with architectural monuments important for the entire Thessaly. Stone dominates, with its hardness, the village that, quiet in winter and very lively in the summer, is located at the forested slopes of Kedros.
Anthousa has been designated a preserved settlement. Close to the village, there is the Monastery of Panagia (Holy Mary) Galaktotrofousa (1799) and the traditional bridge of Michos at Chalikiotikos, the first tributary of Acheloos River.
Before leaving this jewel of Aspropotamos, one must have discovered the uniqueness of the two mansions of the village, Papastergiou and Simou.
